# Heartbeat for Enterprise Edge instances.

POST https://app.unleash-instance.example.com/api/client/edge-licensing/heartbeat

**Enterprise feature**

Reports that an Enterprise Edge instance is alive and in use. This is related to billing and usage tracking.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (required) — API key needed to access this API
- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — API key needed to access this API, in Bearer token format

## Response

- `edgeLicenseState` (enum, required) — State of the current Enterprise Edge license
  - Allowed values: `Valid`, `Invalid`, `Expired`

## Errors

### 400 Bad Request Error

The request data does not match what we expect.

- `message` (string, optional) — A description of what went wrong.
